The Yuva Nestham (youth empowerment) Program was a collaboration between Operation ASHA and the Center for Sustainable Development within the Earth Institute at Columbia University in New York City, USA. The Earth Institute is working to help guide the world onto a path toward sustainability by blending scientific research, education and practical solutions. The Yuva Nestham Program has been implemented in Telangana State of India since 2015. It consists of four components: Truancy Assessment Project, Adolescent health counselling and education, Social and Emotional Learning Curriculum and Income-Generating Activities.
In this Program, the attendance of kids in schools in disadvantaged areas and data analytics was done with eAttendance Application developed by Operation ASHA. Based on the analytics, education counsellors discussed the issues with students and their families. This led to substantial rise in school attendance.
