This application was developed for and used by the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, USA. They are using it in secondary schools in Telangana, India. Students have to give their attendance through fingerprints. The attendance data is analysed to find students who chronically miss school. Education Extension Workers (counterparts of CHWs) meet such students and their teachers, parents and administrators to figure out issues and ameliorate them. This has reduced absenteeism.
