Ashutosh Mishra is a former officer of the Indian Trade Service (1989 Batch). Since taking Voluntary Retirement from the services, he has been practicing as Advocate with the High Court of Bombay and Supreme Court with practice area in the fields of Foreign Trade Policy, EOUs, SEZ, Anti-dumping Duty, Safeguard Duty, Customs, Excise, Service Tax, FEMA, etc., (FTP and Indirect Taxation).
He worked as Joint DGFT in the Office of Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (ZJDGFT), Mumbai and Delhi. He served as Director in the National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector (NCEUS), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, New Delhi and as Director in the Ministry of Agro & Rural Industries (ARI), Government of India, New Delhi.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Science (Chemistry) from Patna University and Public Policy from National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan, a Degree in Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) from Delhi University, and PG Diploma in Tax Law from Indian Law Institute New Delhi.
Luis is currently involved with various not-for-profit and for-profit initiatives related to education, healthcare, human rights and early stage companies. He is the Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Centre for Civil Society and is a Trustee of the Society for Nutrition Education and Health Action (SNEHA). He is also a Senior Advisor at Global Environment Fund; Chairman of Manipal-City & Guilds Skills Training and a Director at SilverNeedle Hospitality, Samhita Social Ventures, GMR Sports and CSIR Tech. He is a Member of the Global Advisory Board (Asia Cabinet) of the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago and the Advisory Board of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Luis holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
